Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, hourly position with potential for overtime—days and hours may vary, occasionally including evenings and weekends as required by job duties.
This role is a hands-on Sheet Metal Project Supervisor position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all sheet metal installation activities on commercial and industrial projects, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and SMACNA standards.
Coordinate daily field operations, including crew scheduling, manpower planning, and progress monitoring to ensure timely project completion.
Interpret project schedules, submittals, contract documents, and shop drawings to coordinate sheet metal work with other trades effectively.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and productivity standards are met.
Collaborate closely with the fabrication shop to ensure the availability of materials, delivery schedules, and installation sequencing.
Verify dimensions, layouts, and materials from drawings prior to fabrication.
Manage material tracking, tool inventory, and job site deliveries efficiently.
Complete necessary electronic documentation, including daily reports, next-week plans, accurate as-built drawings, accident reports, and disciplinary documents.
Lead and supervise multiple crews, including Foremen, Journeymen, and Apprentices across various job sites.
Participate in weekly job site meetings and represent Upchurch on project scheduling and work execution matters.
Conduct safety meetings and audits, ensuring full compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
Maintain open and effective communication between the shop, field, and project management teams.
Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and field technicians.
Consistently uphold company policies and procedures among all supervised employees.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial sheet metal construction projects.
Demonstrated ability to supervise projects ranging in value from small to multi-million-dollar endeavors.
Strong understanding of duct fabrication, installation methods, and SMACNA standards.
Ability to lift and carry objects from a lower to higher position or move them horizontally, utilizing upper extremities and back muscles safely.
This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
Capability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and mechanical plans accurately.
OSHA 30-hour certification is required.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record are essential.
