Job Title: Structural Steel Detailer
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailer for our customer in Novi, MI. This is a direct hire opportunity with a growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed drawings and plans for structural steel fabrication and erection projects. This is a critical role within our organization, as accurate and detailed plans are essential to ensuring safe and efficient construction. Experience with Tekla Structures or SDS2 or Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce detailed shop and erection drawings based on engineering designs, including plans, sections, and elevations.
• Develop accurate bills of materials for fabrication and procurement purposes.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure plans and specifications are accurate and meet project requirements.
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify drawings.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with other trades to resolve design and construction issues.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience as a Structural Steel Detailer.
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
• Proficient in Tekla Structures or SDS2; Autodesk Inventor; and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Familiarity with industry standards and building codes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines.
Education:
• Bachelor or Associate degree in engineering, or related technical field preferred.
